Ajetaan me sodomilla
[edit:] Habe gerade zwei Leute vom roten Kreuz weggeschickt. :/

Warnings: Well, at the very end you get a mentioning of Jack/Gwen, but really, don't worry... really!!! It'll be fine. Spoilers up to "Cyberwoman", obviously, and up to "Something Borrowed" in the epilogue.
Comment or Excerpt from fic: Can't believe this hasn't been recced yet (that or I was too stupid to find it on the masterlist)... I get to rec a </a> plotbunniesinc story! Huge fan of their writing, me. Funny, witty, ranging from lighthearted to heartbreaking, but always with a happy ending - bless them! This is their turn at a Post-Cyberwoman fic.

I eat, sleep, and breathe Batman.
Actually, if I were to be honest, my anxiety over Batman results in my lack of appetite and inability to eat, my constantly sprinting brain cells to disallow sleep, and my lungs to cease the receipt of any autonomic signals. So really, I don't eat, sleep, or breathe; therefore, I cannot eat, sleep, and breathe Batman.

| Rec: No Trace of Existance. |
[09 Jul 2008|12:11am] |
Story: No Trace of Existance. Author: xwingace. Rating: All ages. Word Count: 2244 Author's Summary: Jack goes to check on a man answering the description of Queen Victoria's Doctor. He finds a schoolteacher. Characters/Pairings: Jack Harkness, The Doctor (10th) Warnings: None.
Recced because: We know Jack got stranded for a whole century before meeting the Doctor again in Utopia...right? This little vignette says otherwise. It is a sweet little story where Jack uses his Torchwood connections to go investigate a teacher who suddenly appeared out of nowhere. I personally love stories where characters come across each other in different times and places, and one might not know the other. This fits my little fetish perfectly!

This is really random, but I've been looking for this essay I read on LJ ages ago when poking around random journals. It was in somebody's memories.
It was about the slash fandom, and what we see in canon that makes us ship whatever various pairings - one particular section used examples from Jeeves & Wooster and Buffy (and something else I think) where it listed the things people view as 'shippy' about whatever characters but with the gender of one swapped so it became a would-be heterosexual pairing. The main point the writer was making was that it's an uneven playing field because het shippers don't have to 'justify' their point of view, since people assume that all characters are 100% straight. I've just been thinking about similar things in a broad sense - like the difference between "flaunting" my sexuality and just being open about it, et cetera - so it was on my mind, but I'm notoriously poor at keeping links.
I'm fairly sure it was by a prominent person in fandom, but this is pretty random - plus it was already a few years old when I read it for the first time, I think. But just in case, anyone out there know?

THANK YOU so much for cutting and warning for 4.5 spoilers! I may look funny grabbing links while covering the screen with my arm, but it's a price I'm willing to pay. ;)

OMGYOUGUYS. The WROCK show was SO AWESOME. Like, totes ridic and fun and I might be a little in love with Draco and the Malfoys. Sh. Don't tell anyone. There will be pics of rocking out with wands out once Em figures out how to work her camera in a way that will get them to me for editing. :p For now though, just know that it was a lot of fun and Alex Carpenter knows that I love his stupid face. ♥ Also for now, since it's Em's birthday, dystopic porn.
Title: Disappointment Fandom: Original - Post Steampunk Pairing: Derek/James Rating: Um. Porn rating. NC-17 Summary: James isn't Amelia, he doesn't have the answers, but there's a possible revision for every failed plan. A/N: Right um, I was working to a deadline here, so this has been betaed quick and dirty by yours truly, because people just don't stay up till 4am like they used to. :p Thank you greatly to kyasuriin for looking over it early on. Any neglected semi-colons or abused commas are solely the fault of me. Really though, who's surprised? Not I! Also, they're sleeping naked because I was too lazy to research underthings for the period. But uh, if you want you can totally imagine this is round two. >.> Or three, or four, or...
( I've made love, yeah I've been fucked. So what? )
Dude, why is it I can't write porn without Bright Eyes lately? I never knew porn was SO EMO. Gawd. GOOD MORNING SUNSHINES!

| rec: ozymandias in hell |
[08 Jul 2008|11:15pm] |
Story: Ozymandias in Hell Author: ponygirl Rating: None given (Teen seems a safe bet) Author's Summary: Written for the "Old Clichés Made New" fic challenge on Livejournal. Martha learns about a side of the Doctor she hasn't seen before. Well, make that nine sides, actually. Characters/Pairings: Martha Jones, First Doctor, Second Doctor, Third Doctor, Fourth Doctor, Fifth Doctor, Sixth Doctor, Seventh Doctor, Eighth Doctor, Ninth Doctor, Tenth Doctor Warnings: None Word Count: 7,881
Recced because: Ponygirl has an amazing gift for storytelling, and the tense but careful pacing of a longer story showcases this brilliantly. Her characterisation of each of the Doctors is flawless, but it's her interpretation of Martha that steals the show - even the most contradictory facets of her character come together for her terrifying and wonderful exploration of the Doctor's mind, of the Time War, and of everything that came after. While this may seem like a been-there-done-that scenario, the author admirably accomplishes the "Made New" part of the challenge, and the fic as a whole feels beautifully mysterious and different and unknown, and, more than that, it feels real and true to each character.
